Opinel Oyster & Shellfish Knife with Wooden Handle

Perfect for opening oysters and shellfish, this Opinel knife has a short and pointed stainless steel blade (6.5cm) that folds into its a richly hued padauk wood handle for easy transport. The stainless steel is hard and durable, with added chromium for corrosion-resistance. The blade is designed to be sharp at the tip but not the sides, allowing users to break the tough shell with the point and then use the thicker sides to manoeuvre along the fish, allowing for a more effective friction to open both cupped and flat oysters. Made from padauk wood, prized for its beautiful colour and grain pattern, the handle is covered in a protective varnish to prevent moisture damage. The Virobloc safety ring, or safety twist lock, allows the blade to be locked in either the open or closed position. Made in France.
